dala.care

Iceland's healthcare workforce had no modern coordination layer. We built one.

Iceland’s care providers ran shifts, compliance, and billing on spreadsheets and legacy systems. I co-founded dala.care to fix that: a real-time workforce management platform for home healthcare providers in the Nordics and US.

I worked across the full stack. Go microservices, React/TypeScript frontend, Terraform on AWS, and a caregiver mobile PWA I helped build from scratch in 2024. Most of my product surface was visit scheduling and everything around it: recurrences and exceptions, visit types and logs, activities, notifications, and the OpenSearch-backed search that made it all findable. Billing was a smaller late slice, alongside AI-assisted dev tooling for the team.

On the AI side, I built the developer tooling layer between Claude Code and the codebase: 25+ custom skills for ticket kickoff, PR creation, code review, TDD, CI triage. An Obsidian-based knowledge vault that captured architectural decisions so the agent retained institutional knowledge across sessions. Convention files that encoded our coding standards directly into the agent’s context.

~3,800 commits since January 2023.

Working through something similar?

I write about this kind of work and build the tooling in the open. If you're using it or arguing with it, I'd like to hear how it's going.
